Lena Douglas (AUS) + Sara Flindt (DK)

Australian artist Lena Douglas (keys/piano/vocals) and Danish vocalist, songwriter and improviser Sara Flindt have recently joined forces in a new, collaborative duo project. Lena and Sara met while studying Masters at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, and since graduating have developed a project which intertwines abstracted versions of both their songs with two vocals, two keyboards, intricate textures, effects and open improvisatory forms.

The duo toured Australia in December 2025, and were awarded the Rolling Stock Recording Prize for their performance at the Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival.

About Sara: Sara Flindt is a Copenhagen/Reykjavík-based musician and composer working between songwriting and avant-garde. With a Masters degree in Music Performance from Rhythmic Music Conservatory (2025) and a Bachelor from the Royal Academy of Music (2020), her work centers on voice and language, exploring the unpredictable, the imperfect and the momentary. Through projects such as her own solo-project, the duo slóra and collaborations with Guðmundur Arnalds (IS) and Szymon Wójcik (PL), she has developed improvisatory approaches to voice and text that challenge conventional structures and hierarchies in language.

In 2022, Flindt released the split album While We Wait with Icelandic artists Salóme Katrín and RAKEL, which was nominated for Album of the Year at the Iceland Music Awards. She has performed at festivals such as Roskilde Festival, SPOT, G!Festival, Arctic sound and Iceland Airwaves.

About Lena: Lena Douglas emerged from Melbourne’s band scene as a pianist and keys player, but in recent years has shifted her focus towards the voice, songwriting and production — working with sung melodies, sampling, and experimentations with autotune. Her 2024 release Stockerz highlights a collage-like approach to form, weaving together acoustic textures, pop energy, and intricate harmonic progressions.
